I can't stop thinking!

lanterns up the sky

Today is the eve of the Chinese (Lunar) New Year celebrations. I am praying that this year of the water dragon will bring us much luck, prosperity and happiness! I am sending up lanterns of wishes up the sky for each and every one of us.

Happy Chinese New Year everyone! Kong Hei Fat Choi!

Needing Mommy

Posted on January 22, 2012 | No Comments

I am hungry right this very minute. My stomach is growling and possibly screaming inside for some food. Right this very minute, I need my mom! I need her to be there to talk to and be a fixture at home. Unfortunately, she’s no longer with us. She passed away in 2005. I miss her so much!

It’s so hard to live without a mom. That’s why I tell my friends to make sure to tell and show their moms how much they appreciate them and love them and respect them. It’s not everyday that they will be there waiting for some attention coming from their children. Hug them. Give them gifts! Bring them to vacation trips and on shopping sprees. Tell them you love them.

You never know until when you have your mom beside you…

Friends coming over

Posted on January 22, 2012 | No Comments

I love having friends over at home. For one, it’s cheaper to hang out at home than somewhere else. I also don’t have to exert an effort to dress up because the guests coming over are my closest friends who have seen me in various stages of undress. Well, not naked, if you must know. Hehehe

What I don’t like about having guests at home is the fact that space is so limited! So I told my dad that we should do something about the patio and buy patio furniture after. That way we can have guests outside the house and not cram everyone inside. He agrees with me.

Tomorrow, the patio will have a makeover!

Abyss

Abyss

Sometimes I feel like I am about to step into an abyss and that’s it for me. No, it’s not suicide I am thinking about. Just letting everything go. Letting it all happen and letting it all pass.

I think my life’s been one big sit down affair. I let everything move around me but I remain seated and just waiting for what’s to come and happen.

Too safe. And. Boring.

A wedding planner’s piece of advice

Posted on January 19, 2012 | No Comments

blue_wedding_ring

I have a friend who is working as a wedding planner. She told me that planning a wedding is not easy. There are a lot of things to be done before a wedding, and if the couple in question wants to stand out in the crowd during their wedding ceremony or during their wedding reception, they have to be creative with their wedding attire and whatnot. One piece of advice that I found interesting is that she suggested the bride to opt for created diamonds wedding rings  instead of colorless natural diamond rings. She said that color diamond jewellery will not only make the bride look radiant, but also stand out in the crowd. Interesting piece of info, isn’t it? Perhaps you should consider that if you’re getting married.

Looking forward to 2012!

A job in a hotel

Posted on December 30, 2011 | No Comments

I’ve been looking for ways to be hired in a posh hotel somewhere abroad. I can work my way up if need be. One of the people from my high school was lucky enough to be holding one of those Room Director Jobs. I remember bumping into him a couple of months ago and he told me how he’s been working at the same hotel for the past decade. I felt envious! I know how hard it is to be in the position he is in.

I am hoping to find a job in a hotel this coming 2012. Possibly in one of the posh hotels here in the metro. Or abroad!

Did I tell you I love staying in hotels?

Would I?

Posted on December 30, 2011 | No Comments

Would you rather have a four-day work week or be able to work from home?

I don’t mind working both ways. When I was still in the corporate world, I kept thinking that a four-day work week would be much better and more efficient for everyone in my department. I was sure there would be lots more work done that way. But looking back I now don’t think it would work for everyone. It would work with me because I normally lose myself in work. For other people used to dilly-dallying, I don’t think so.

Well, I’ve been blessed to be able to work from home for the past couple of years now. More than six long years. I must say that it worked for me. I can stay this way working for the rest of my life, at home. I just hope it will stay profitable for the years to come.

Outdoors activities

Posted on December 23, 2011 | No Comments

Sean wants to be more active in the coming months. And by active he means participating in more outdoors activities like trekking, mountain climbing and biking, hiking, and diving. He is that active and he just got sidelined because he became really busy with the business he put up with his brothers. Now that the business is doing well, he wants to find more time for himself.

He is taking out all his camelbak apparel and gear. He is ‘airing’ it all out so that it will be ready for him when he finally gets done with the budget planning he’s doing and then he’s off!

Being outdoors is freedom for him!

Poolside party

Posted on December 23, 2011 | No Comments

My cousin will be throwing a poolside party on the night of the 26th. As early as last month she already made sure everything needed for the party will be prepared for including the polaris pool products. The celebration will not only be a post-Christmas party but also for the promotion that she got last week. My cousin now heads the department she was once a staff in!

The poolside party will be attended by her friends from work and from high school, college and business school. She also invited us her close female cousins to attend. It will be a party like no other, according to her, as she really prepared for it to make it good.

Looking forward to the 26th!

Christmas is for kids.

Posted on December 18, 2011 | No Comments

I am now 33. I know for a fact that Christmas is meant of all of us but more so for kids. That’s why we all prepare more for kids to enjoy the season than for us adults. Am I right?

I found toys r us coupons that I will surely use to be able to buy gifts for the young ones in the family. I crave for that joy on their faces when they found out they have gifts to open on Christmas day. I love that!

I might be off a day or more to prepare for Christmas this coming Sunday. I do hope all of you are done with the shopping already. The rush is making me dizzy with all the people packed everywhere these days.

Tragedy in Mindanao

Posted on December 18, 2011 | No Comments

The flash flood brought on by Typhoon Sendong and the subsequent tragedy that befell Mindanao has left me reeling. How could it have happened in just a short time?!? It’s Ondoy all over again! I couldn’t believe the photos I’ve seen. It’s just too much considering Christmas is just 7 days away!

Prayers

I don’t know exactly how the families affected are feeling right now. We won’t know because we are not in their position. I do know that I can offer prayers for them.

I pray for their recovery. I pray for strength in the face of this overwhelming tragedy. I pray for understanding. I pray for everyone’s compassion.

Can’t wait for summer!

Posted on December 7, 2011 | No Comments

I think all my friends feel the same way as I do with the summer season… we can’t wait for it to arrive once again! We are actually already checking out sunglasses like Maui Jim Sunglasses for our two planned trips to the beach.

We may not be beach bums but the sun, the sand, and all the fun when you are with your very close friends definitely lure us to the water.

Don’t get me wrong, I also love the rainy season but I just don’t like the mud and the possibility of floods during this season. I still love the sun more.

Gorgeous lashes

Posted on December 6, 2011 | No Comments

I would want to have gorgeous lashes, too! Just like Adele’s. Although I know that hers is fake, I still want the same. I am reading eyelash growth product reviews and I know there is a product that will help me get the gorgeous lashes I want.

I met this woman who did her best to attract the guy she loves. She was able to do so by making herself beautiful in his eyes. When he was already attracted to her physically, she was able to show him there’s more to her than just outside appearance.

They are now married for eight years!

Trekking this weekend

Posted on December 6, 2011 | No Comments

Mia and her friends will go trekking this weekend. They will be bringing a handheld gps with them so they would know the way to a cave they want to locate and explore. Mia and her friends are known for being adventurous. They once explored a place known for having quite a few dangerous animals and plants. They came out alive but with scratches. And now they want to explore a cave known to house hundreds and hundreds of bat inside!

I am not an adventurous person. In fact, I am more passive than active in life. What Mia and her friends do are things I can only dream of. I am not as brave and risky as them.
